CE-Logic, Inc. kicked off the year by visiting three cities as part of its regional conference series titled “Seminar-Workshop on Distinctive Library Services as Signifiers of Excellence,” a two-day program that convenes library science professionals to discuss emerging trends and challenges in librarianship. The regional conference series is accredited by the Professional Regulation Commission to grant 14 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) units to registered and licensed librarians.
Saint Louis University hosted the North Luzon leg of the conference in Baguio City, Benguet on January 24 and 25. For the South Luzon leg, the program was held at the Ateneo de Naga University in Naga City, Camarines Sur on February 7 and 8, while the latest leg was conducted at the University of Santo Tomas in Sampaloc, Manila on February 21 and 22 for participants in the National Capital Region.

For the training, CE-Logic partnered with InfoManagement Specialists, Inc. (IMSI), an organization engaged in consultancy services that organizes and conducts training programs and seminars for academic, government, and corporate organizations. IMSI Chairman Salvacion Arlante and IMSI Director Fides Abad served as the resource speakers in the past three legs of the conference, while Rosemarie Rosali and Prudenciana Cruz, both from IMSI Secretariat, served as facilitators.
This year’s regional conference series covers six topics: influences affecting trends in librarianship, learning resources and digital management, media information literacy, competencies of librarians for the 21st-century clientele, librarians and office staff productivity and leadership, and librarianship towards continuing professional development.
Four more legs are set in the next two months to complete the series. These are the West Visayas leg in Iloilo City on March 7 and 8, the Mindanao leg in Davao City on March 21 and 22, and the East and Central Visayas leg in Cebu City on April 4 and 5.
The regional conference series is an annual event organized by CE-Logic, Inc. as part of its commitment to providing development programs for professionals in the education sector and modernizing the library and information services in the country.
